REPORTS TO: Director of Data Solutions
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time; Exempt
LOCATION: Remote
BASE SALARY: $80,000 - $140,000, depending on experience
Crosswalk Labs is a start-up company whose mission is to make every city-level decision a climate decision. We’ve seen firsthand how well-informed choices that are grounded in data can shape communities and affect the environment. With that in mind, we developed a system that saves time by providing a detailed, peer-reviewed approach to emissions data validated by atmospheric science – verifiable metrics that cities across the country can rely on.
Our small team comprises former elected officials and data scientists who are committed to supporting citizens and leaders in making thoughtful decisions to help reduce emissions. We have offices in Flagstaff, Arizona and Washington, DC, though many of us choose to work a hybrid or remote schedule. We recognize that each of us has different needs and desires in life and in work, and our goal is to provide an environment where all Crosswalk employees can thrive. To that end, we provide the tools and flexibility required to balance the responsibilities of work and home, and we recognize that looks different for everyone.
Crosswalk Labs is looking for a Software Engineer to help grow our greenhouse gas emissions information system and associated products and service offerings. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with start-up experience, or a desire to gain start-up experience as part of a new company poised for growth and opportunity in the coming years.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have software development expertise in python, SQL, GIS software and R. You will be working with data scientists and subject matter experts to build out new features, fix bugs in our codebase, and you will own the design, implementation and maintenance of our test automation framework. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively and will be able to communicate complicated information to a lay audience.
This position is located in an office setting. It requires prolonged periods of remaining stationary. You will constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.
