🎯 About the Role
We're seeking YOU to join our team as an ✨ Grants & Contracts Lead ✨  - one of our early team members. We imagine you could come from a variety of profiles:
  • I’ve worked at large federal agencies (e.g. DOE, USDA, etc.) for 5+ years and reviewed dozens of grant applications. I’m looking to leverage my knowledge to accelerate climate solutions!
  • I’ve worked in the grant writing space for 5+ years and won millions in funding. I’m excited to leverage modern tools (like AI) to accelerate my work and help climate companies win non-dilutive funding!
  • I’ve worked on the ground, implementing dozens of federally funded grants programs as a PI, operator, or engineer, and am excited to leverage my skills to support climate tech companies!
🏆 What You'll Do
  • Lead opportunity identification engagements with clients helping them understand the funding landscape and sharing relevant funding opportunities with them.
  • Leverage our AI tools to craft compelling 100+ page grant application packages that align with the customer’s win themes.
  • Own the end-to-end project management for application work ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on key action items and on track for the submission due date.
  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, provide guidance, and drive value realization.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to help drive improvements to our internal AI tooling and drive more efficiency in opportunity identification and application work.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, guiding customers on how to maximize the value of our partnership.
✨ About You
  • 5+ yrs of relevant experience: This could entail working at government agencies, philanthropic funders, as a grant writer, and/or in government in some other capacity.
    • You aren’t scared of 150 page RFPs or FOAs, and have successfully won multiple bids you’ve worked on and/or reviewed dozens of applications. You know how to source opportunities and are confident recommending RFPs & FOAs to customers.
  • Excellent time management: You know how to manage your time effectively and prioritize in the face of many important priorities.
  • Concise and persuasive communicator: You have been told you’re a strong writer and know how to craft a clear and persuasive message.
  • Customer-centric approach: You share our passion for creating positive customer experiences and are committed to helping customers achieve their goals.
  • Passion for climate solutions: You have a demonstrated passion or commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change and are excited by our mission.
  • Growth mindset: You have a hunger for personal and professional growth and are excited to grow together with our organization.
  • Tech-savvy: You are comfortable learning new software tools and are curious about modern technologies like LLMs and AI.
🚀 Bonus Points
  • Experience in climate: You’ve worked on RD&D with the DOE or come to us with deep expertise & passion in a specific climate topic like EVs, renewables, circular economy etc.
  • Experience at startups: While not required for this role, prior experience in start-ups is a plus! At minimum you should be excited to dive into a fast-paced, high ownership environment.
  • Knowledge of AI: Familiarity with AI and LLMs a plus. Excitement mandatory.
Location: We are a remote-first team and are only considering US-based candidates (bonus points if you’re in the DC area)!
