Generate Capital is hiring an Associate Product Manager (APM) or Product Manager (PM) to further the firm’s goal of leading the Resource Revolution. Equipped with a strategic understanding of our business and goals, the APM/PM will serve as the intermediary and translator between business partners and the Data & Technology team to prioritize, scope, and deliver technical products. As part of the Operations organization, they will help fulfill our mission of using technology to scale the business and using data as a differentiator for Generate’s investments and operations.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the (Associate) Product Manager, Data & Technology

• Develop and prioritize product roadmaps that distill critical business challenges in reporting, asset management, analytics, data architecture, and financial operations into technology-driven solutions
• Writing user stories and acceptance criteria to translate business needs into technical requirements
• Manage the delivery of products through close coordination with Data team members and business stakeholders
• Serve as key team member to internal scrum teams
• Ensure there is clear alignment on deliverables and project progress between business stakeholders and members of the Data & Technology team
• Drive forward adoption of key tools & systems; establish plan for addressing existing gaps
• Establish the team’s roadmap across competing priorities and ensure firm-wide transparency into decision-making
• Define and drive forward product management and team + culture best practices
• Serve as the driving force behind development; accelerate change where possible, and unblock others where needed

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

• 2+ years experience in a product management or analytical/IT consulting role with a demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into concrete technical solutions
• Knowledge of and passion for climate solutions, demonstrated through work experience, academic study, or individual research + projects
• Ability to rapidly learn new business concepts, technical tools, and processes with minimal formal instruction
• Strong technical proficiency in at least 1-2 of our key platforms (SQL, Tableau, Python)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of agile development best practices
• Highly organized and detailed-oriented; demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team
• High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges
• Intellectual agility and curiosity, superb analytical skills; problem-solving is your default mode
• Unimpeachable integrity and glowing references
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, intuition, and listening as well as strong writing, editing, and basic design skills.
