Revent is an early-stage venture capital firm investing in Europe’s most ambitious founders working on climate, health, and empowerment. Our north star is the extent to which we can improve planetary and societal outcomes by backing exceptional tech entrepreneurs; our conviction is that these companies, organized around a clear purpose, will be the most valuable businesses of tomorrow. 

 

We’re headquartered in Berlin and are investing out of a fresh 60M seed fund. As we scale, we’re looking to hire an Associate who will help us identify and partner with Europe’s most extraordinary founders and to build an exceptional VC product and experience for founders.  



The Role

As an early hire and a core member of the team, you’ll help to write Revent’s story and to shape the dynamics, processes, and most of all success of the firm. 

 

You’ll benefit from a steep learning curve, transparent feedback, lots of exposure to the tech ecosystem, and a comp package that includes carry, with an envisioned salary of 60k Euro. In return, we expect you to be a self-starter who shares our relentless drive to ensure the outsized success of the fund. 

 

Your primary jobs will be to source high-potential deals, conduct market research, and contribute to due diligence processes (60% of your time), and to support on Revent fund operations and company building (40% of your time). Specifically, we’ll expect you to:

 

  • Research industries and trends and contribute to the development of investment theses 

 

  • Source early-stage deals across Europe 

 

  • Support on due diligence processes and market analyses

 

  • Together with senior team members, ensure smooth fund operations and a best-in-class experience for founders 



What We’re Looking For

We strongly believe that there isn’t one “right” profile for this role and encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply. This role is suitable for people wanting to break into venture who are enthusiastic about the European start-up ecosystem and Revent’s mission. We think you are more likely to succeed in the application process and in the role itself if you have: 

 

  • The first work experience(s) in a fast-growing startup, investment firm, or other high-paced professional environment

 

  • Excellent prioritization skills – a strong “filtering” skillset that helps you to zero in on what matters and to communicate that clearly to others 

 

  • The ability to switch between high-level and very detailed analysis – you can see the forest through the trees, but know how to closely analyze the trees as well

 

  • Familiarity with and an affinity for operations – you know your way around OKRs, budgets, and mailing lists and take pride in getting things done quickly and well 

 

  • A self-starter attitude in which you lean into “all-hands-on-deck” situations and proactively think about what else can be done to take things to the next level

 

  • A passion for Revent’s mission and aspiration to back the most important tech companies addressing significant societal and climate problems 

 

Nice to Have Attributes:  

 

  • Particular content knowledge / subject matter expertise / a scientific background in one of our verticals (climate, health, empowerment) 

 

  • Technical skills that could help us or our portfolio companies

Process:

We know that CVs are usually a bad predictor of success in a job and can lead to a lot of unconscious bias in hiring. So instead, we run a blind assessment process which simulates what you’d actually be doing on the job and then invite the top performers to take part in a structured interview process.
