About Us

Travertine Technologies, Inc. is a start-up based in Boulder, CO that is building a gigaton-scale carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and industrial chemical manufacturing process. Our process takes carbon dioxide from the air and sources of waste sulfate and produces carbonate minerals, sulfuric acid, and hydrogen. The sulfuric acid is used in industrial applications including extraction of critical elements like lithium and nickel needed for EV batteries. We recently raised a seed round from the Grantham Foundation and Clean Energy Ventures, and we were one of the first companies to receive pre-purchases of CDR from the new Stripe-led $1B Frontier fund. We believe in developing practical approaches to solving the climate crisis.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious Research Technician to help with R&D in our lab and scaling our process. The technology was developed and proof-of-concept completed at UC Berkeley, and we are scaling it up in our Boulder, CO R&D facility. If you want to work on the cutting edge of Climate Tech to help to pull carbon out of the atmosphere AND help decarbonize the grid and transportation, this is your opportunity.

This role will assist senior technical staff with building and operating bench and pilot-scale systems and sample analysis. Critical to the role will be organization, detailed recording of results, maintaining lab safety, and problem solving. We are looking for someone with a degree in chemistry, geochemistry, environmental engineering, process chemistry, process engineering, or similar, a few years of experience in lab work, and motivation to help solve the climate crisis. The company is growing and there will be significant potential for professional and technical growth.
