Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Senior Associate to support our NYC based Technology and Manufacturing Programs team. The team is responsible for delivering programs in the United States for government, philanthropic and corporate clients.

The Senior Associate will:

  • Provide support to the startups engaged in the program, oversee execution of manufacturing project funding and resources to be deployed to startups
  • Oversee developing, designing, and implementing project scopes, and ensuring that deliverables are met. Be responsible for the development, implementation and external communications of the program, as well as management of internal stakeholders and reporting, as well as external collaborators such as other accelerators, incubators, educational institutes, startup support organizations and manufacturers. Broaden our presence in the climate tech, hardware and manufacturing landscape.
  • Source technical expertise, manufacturing resources, and possible funding opportunities to support the project scope.
  • Support the successful execution, growth and strategy of SecondMuse’s current New York statewide Scale for ClimateTech program, supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
  • Lead the selection and onboarding of startups as well as new initiatives including the expansion of geographic presence and leadership in the Climatetech community.

  • Manage key components of the implementation and impact measurement of the Scale for ClimateTech program including but not limited to the following:
    • Program execution
    • Ensure milestones are met with the client and participants
    • Grow the program’s network in climatetech and scale-up manufacturing based on SecondMuse’s sector strategy and market drivers.
    • Coordinate to deepen and grow entrepreneurial networks and partnerships in NYC, NY State and beyond.
    • Support the design and execution of startup recruitment and selection processes, including outreach, communications, stakeholder management and reporting.
    • Facilitate and provide business and technical support to program startups through the development and engagement of program resources and partners.
    • Work with the program team to manage scope and proactively address scope changes.
    • Keep internal finance and program systems updated.
    • Utilize company-wide best practices. Capture program learnings and participate in sharing learnings across program teams and the broader company.
    • Manage quality, ensuring that deliverables meet the client’s objectives and expectations. Review deliverables before they are sent to the client.
    • Manage vendor assignments and budget, in consultation with the program partner, and the work of vendors.
    • Facilitate post-program documentation and review (monitoring and evaluation requirements).
  • Support the growth of SecondMuse’s climate tech portfolio through partnership development

Requirements

  • Engineering, technical expertise, manufacturing or hardware design experience
