We’re rapidly growing, and have raised a substantial seed round from climate investors worldwide.

We're looking to bring on a full time Business Development manager to support the growth of our Employer Partner Program. This person will be pivotal to us understanding the employment market for careers in climate change, particularly in engineering and Environment, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) functions. Experience in B2B sales is strongly preferred.

About the role

In this role, you will:

  • Qualify, develop, and maintain thorough company and service offering knowledge, research needs of companies hiring for climate related roles in engineering and ESG, and identify how our solutions can meet them

  • Represent Terra.do and explain our comprehensive set of hiring offerings to these companies

  • Perform warm outreach, putting outside-the-box thinking to work to develop new and unique sales tactics

  • Generate leads and build relationships by finding new potential partner outlets, nurturing warm prospects, managing the pipeline, and engaging the Head of Climate Careers into conversations as needed

  • Manage grow existing relationships, maintaining an accurate, detailed client book, and developing an active, repeat customer base

The role reports to the Head of Climate Careers, a seasoned careers and recruiting leader with over a decade of experience running careers functions at educational institutions, massive organizations, and startups. You’ll of course be working closely with everyone from the CEO to product to growth, etc.

What you’d bring

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years of prior B2B sales or business development experience required

  • Strong research, coordination, and prospecting skills.

  • Experience using a CRM, strong knowledge of sales principles and practices

  • Excellent attention to detail in written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Extremely strong customer service skills

  • Skills in managing client relationships, including at the executive level

  • Must have a history of emphasizing excellence and meeting sales goals.

  • High level of energy and comfort working independently

  • Existing relationships and knowledge in the hiring/recruiting industry and/or climate forward organizations a plus

In addition to the above, a few things that will be crucial for you to enjoy working at Terra.do:

  • An overwhelming passion for addressing and solving the various crises brought on by climate change

  • Working in a capital R remote environment: We're Hawaii to Hong Kong. There is no home base. Calling a meeting is highly non-trivial. This usually means fantastic documentation, written communication with your teammates, and follow-through. It also means *some* morning/night meetings... a pure 10am-7pm startup schedule is not going to work unf. That said, we recognize that this is a marathon and we keep odd hours to a core minimum.

  • Be deeply respectful of your co-workers, all of whom come from very different backgrounds, and be highly proactive about resolving issues in an above-board manner. There is no [beer after work/in-person board game night/name your replacement] to smooth things over!

Look forward to hearing from you.
