Primary Job Description:
DexMat has experienced a strong period of growth and has just closed its seed round of funding to scale up at an even more rapid pace. To accelerate our trajectory, we’re searching for a highly qualified Chief Of Staff to work closely with our executive team. From Day 1, this person will have an immediate impact on our success by actualizing strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and building alignment across functions. The ideal candidate will have proven success in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration.
Location: Hybrid/remote with frequent presence in Houston
Objectives of this Role:
- Be the CEO’s right hand, owning and managing all administrative, financial, and operational activities.
- Translate strategy into actionable plans.
- Build alignment across teams for plan execution; track and monitor progress.
- Make sure the daily operations of the company run smoothly.
- Improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to support the CEO in achieving their goals.
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the company, including managing staff, delegating tasks, and coordinating across functions.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the CEO and both internal and external stakeholders (staff, investors, advisors, clients, partners).
- Provide critical thinking and problem-solving support to the CEO and executive team, making recommendations for decision-making and ensuring timely implementation of agreed-upon solutions.
- Lead cross-functional projects, initiatives, and teams to drive results and support the achievement of company goals.
- Monitor and analyze the business environment, providing insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team on industry trends and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Education: MBA preferred, but not required
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Project manager par excellence, with an instinct to capture outputs of meetings into to-do lists that are actively prioritized, tracked, and managed
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze information, and make informed decisions
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong sense of agency and ownership
- Humility and curiosity to thrive in a rapidly learning organization
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role, with a track record of managing teams and cross-functional projects
- Experience in a rapidly growing startup is a plus, but not required
- Experience with government grants is a plus, but not required
