The Role

Aeroseal's Director of Finance will hold overall responsibility for the financial and accounting operations of JMD, Inc., the Company’s parent company. This includes the financial governance and oversight of JMD’s Canadian subsidiary and providing mentorship working in collaboration with Aeroseal’s Controller on the US entity financial close. Developing and leading overall internal controls, including systems and process optimization, all to support a high-growth collaborative company culture.

Some Specific Initiatives

  • Manage the overall accounting close process providing clarity to the team on accountabilities and level loading workflows promoting a continuous improvement and learning environment.
  • Provide leadership to team and peers to achieve departmental and company objectives.
  • Manage and develop staff by identifying personal strengths and goals aligning resources to achieve both individual and company aspirations.
    • Manage payroll and accounts payable functions.
    • Optimize workflows identifying metrics that highlight growth needs anticipating future team expansion requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and business performance to identify and support opportunities for improvement in the business including spend management initiatives.
  • Partner with FP&A, operations, and supply chain personnel to optimize product BOMs, product costing, and inventory management systems.
  • Evaluate workflow process documents and implements change to improve efficiencies.
  • Participate in final stages of ERP implementation including training and development of best practices.
  • Lead the Company’s annual risk management and business insurance evaluation.
  • Lead the Company’s annual financial audit.
  • Support the development of annual budget and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and tax compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Company’s high-growth collaborative culture.

Experience You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Seven to fifteen years previous work experience including minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Previous experience utilizing and implementing MRP and ERP systems
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
  • Possesses an ability to review and implement process improvement through systems development
