As the environmental challenges facing the world grow, so too has Microsoft’s commitment to ensuring that the company’s activities are in-line with the best available science and the expectations of leading stakeholder communities. With workstreams spanning multiple organizations, the Energy & Sustainability teams at Microsoft coordinate its science-based, measurable, and scalable sustainability investments and procurement strategies to advance carbon reduction and removal solutions.
The Microsoft Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) team is charged with procuring high-quality carbon removal that enables Microsoft to meet its ambitious goal of becoming carbon negative by 2030. To this end, the CDR team seeks a curiosity-driven individual to join our team as a Carbon Removal Buyer. This position will join one of our existing deal teams charged with originating high-quality, innovative carbon removal projects—and negotiating the transactions that will get those projects built.
We look forward to learning about your procurement experience in carbon or other environmental markets, a commercial execution-oriented mindset, and hands-on approach to shaping CDR opportunities into creative, first-of-a-kind deals working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
