Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in energy, climate change, or a core related area
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in climate and clean energy communications, including conceptualizing and developing novel written and multimedia content aimed at global audiences

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience translating highly technical topics to diverse audiences and managing multiple content development processes and initiatives at the same time
  • Leadership experience influencing and collaborating across large-scale organizations to drive new programs, and execute on complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders in complex environments
  • Demonstrated ability to understand highly technical energy and climate workstreams and translate them into compelling and polished written and multimedia content

The Google Climate Operations team is responsible for Google’s efforts to achieve 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy and Net Zero emissions. This team works cross-functionally across our global operations and supply chains to develop and scale new solutions to decarbonize our business.

The Climate Operations team also leads efforts to create the external market environments needed to facilitate these goals and unlock faster climate progress at the global scale.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end development of written and multimedia materials aimed at external audiences and lead coordination of the team’s engagement with external events.

The Google Climate Operations team is responsible for ensuring Google achieves 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy and Net Zero emissions for our global operations and value chain by 2030. The team works cross-functionally across our global operations and hardware supply chains to develop and scale new solutions on energy and carbon. It also leads efforts to create the external market environments necessary to drive decarbonization in a way that facilitates these goals and enables others to do so as well.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$203,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that advances Google’s net zero goal and global climate leadership through high-quality written and multimedia content.
  • Lead end-to-end, cross-functional process to scope, develop, and publish written and multimedia that tells the story of our leadership to diverse local and global audiences.
  • Oversee selection and management of external vendors specializing in multimedia content, including data visualization and 3D animation.
  • Drive execution of the team’s event engagement strategy, including direct engagement with organizers of global and regional events and development of supporting materials.
