Location: Flexible/remote in the U.S. or Canada

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and extremely driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join Lucid Home Climate as a founder and lead it to the next level. Lucid Home Climate launched in 2023 as a platform providing instant, easy-to-understand climate risk reports on an address level. 40 million American homes are at risk of climate catastrophes, and in 2022 climate disasters caused $313 Billion in losses globally. As CEO of Lucid Home Climate you can help people and businesses avoid climate disasters by making it easy to understand climate risk. 

Lucid Home Climate was started as a side-project by two experienced entrepreneurs who believe that the world should have easier access to climate risk so that everyone can make informed, “lucid,” decisions. As climate change worsens, the need for climate risk intelligence grows. We are looking to hire a CEO who can tap into this massive need and turn Lucid Home Climate into a hugely successful company. This is a unique opportunity to take a company from early-stage MVP to a fully launched product and grow it in the market. You don’t have to start from scratch, but you will get the benefits of being a founder and you will have full autonomy to chart the path for Lucid Home Climate. 

The ideal candidate will be experienced in market analysis, customer discovery, product development, team building, and will be able to identify the right market and direction for the company.  You should be a generalist, ready to get hands-on and figure things out. You should be comfortable working solo as well as leading a team.  Strong candidates will have experience in one or more of the following: leading startups, leading product at a successful startup, and/or meaningful experience at a top consulting firm. Bonus points for experience in climate risk, real estate, insurance, and/or an MBA from a top school.

Responsibilities: 

• Market research and customer discovery to identify the most promising market and refine the business model.
• Fundraise.
• Hire and inspire a team of the best in the field.
• Develop the company’s go-to-market strategy and then execute it.

Requirements: 

• Passion for addressing the climate crisis and helping the world adapt and prepare for the impacts of climate change.
• 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years of experience in senior leadership roles.
• Experience starting or leading startups, leading product development at a successful startup, or meaningful roles at a top consulting company. 
• A track record of being extremely driven and self sufficient.  
• Able to research, think big picture to build a strategy, and also get hands-on and execute the strategy. Able to both identify problems and solve them. 
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 

Nice to haves: 

• MBA from a top business school
• Experience in climate risk, real estate, and/or insurance.

Compensation

• At first you will be compensated in equity. You will receive salary and benefits after raising a financing round.
