About Rewiring America

Rewiring America is the leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying everything in our communities. We're all in on electrifying where we live, work, learn, and play. Supported by a world-class research team developing accessible, actionable data, and tools for Americans across the country, Rewiring America is crafting the blueprint for Americans to achieve energy efficiency, tackle nationwide emission goals, improve health, save consumers money, and build the next generation of the American workforce in clean energy.

Position Summary
Rewiring America is growing rapidly. With a clear and inspiring vision, brand recognition, and significant and sustained financial support, we are building a diverse and dynamic team to create software products that accelerate our electrification mission. Specifically, we are developing a suite of consumer-facing products to assist homeowners and renters in electrifying their homes and transportation. These products are designed to be open and power the entire electrification ecosystem. We are seeking an entrepreneurial product manager to join our growing product, design, and engineering team. This position reports to the Head of Product.

What You’ll Do
You will lead the product development of our soon-to-be-launched electrification planning tool, which helps renters and homeowners go from consideration to action by gathering information about their current home and motivations. This tool provides them with the necessary resources to take action on meaningful and achievable projects—whether that involves getting an energy audit, installing an induction stove, or purchasing a new EV. Your responsibilities will include defining and measuring the success of this product, conducting user research, and collaborating with internal experts and stakeholders to inform our plans. You will define the work and roadmap and lead any necessary adjustments based on the product's performance and user needs.

You will:

  • Gain a deep understanding of homeowner and renter needs through frequent user interviews and other forms of user feedback.
  • Immerse yourself in the hands-on experience of home electrification and learn from experts both inside and outside the organization.
  • Synthesize these needs into a product strategy and prioritization framework with clear, measurable goals, collaborating with engineering and design counterparts, as well as other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineering and design to plan, design, build, and iterate on features that align with the strategy.
  • Consult domain experts in policy, communications, data science, research, and communities to gather insights, shape plans, and secure cross-functional support for the strategy.
  • Establish clear success criteria, measure results, and iterate accordingly.

You're recognized as a valuable team member who embodies empathy, humility, and a commitment to learning.
