Core Responsibilities

You will set and maintain a clear pathway and strategy to achieving the LEGO Group SBT for 2032 and a potential future Net Zero target, including developing specific strategies e.g. for renewables. Other core responsibilities will include: 

  • With our CFO organization, co-drive the development and roll out of a group wide climate critical metric and associated education that will engage and inspire our entire organization.

  • With our sustainability reporting, procurement, and digital development teams, improve the granularity and visibility of climate related data in key areas, with particular focus on our supply chain

  • Build on the successful implementation of our Shadow Carbon Price (SCP) and build into an organization wide methodology for assessing the marginal abatement costs and impacts of key projects

  • Develop a comprehensive carbon measurement approach for our supply chain emissions, ideally based on LCA methodology

  • Create a certification strategy and ensure correct purchasing and allocation of carbon certificates and mechanisms to maintain ‘CO2 balanced’ approach

  • In conjunction with the above, and in partnership with the CFO organization, co-develop a clear set of financial instruments to enable clear choices and balance between climate reduction in own operations, our value chain, and compensation.

  • Own and manage key aspects of climate reporting such as CDP and engage with customers (retailers) to support their own climate strategies

  • Work to evaluate complex carbon accounting related to book and trade/mass balance of material consumption and production

  • Through exemplary stakeholder engagement and management, engage and solve difficult tradeoffs between business operations, finance, and communications to deliver cost effective yet ambitious progress

  • Stay ahead of a fast-evolving field and lead the development of industry standards especially where they can directly benefit the LEGO Group ambitions

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience (minimum 10 years) working in a global organization (corporate/NGO/consultancy).

  • Program Management experience in a global corporation.

  • Experience in strategy development and execution at corporate level.

  • Strong experience in carbon accounting, auditing and carbon instruments e.g. MACC analysis and SCP prioritization

  • Background working alongside sustainability reporting, financial, operational and communication teams

  • Experience working with climate data, reporting and auditing with specific experience in digital platforms.
