CHIEF ENGINEER – ELECTROCHEMICAL STACK

 

Excellent opportunity to contribute to and be part of the tremendous momentum that Ohmium is setting in place to get to $1/kg of hydrogen by 2025. We are looking for a Chief Engineer – Electrolyzer Stack Technology. The role is either an expat role or with significant percentage of travel to India. 

 

JOB OVERVIEW

The Chief Engineer-Stack provides leadership for the execution of the stack design and development of the electrolyzer product. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leads a team of engineers and scientists to design, develop and transfer to manufacturing the electrolyzer stack.
  2. Collaborates with suppliers, customers, support staff, and other engineers to plan and implement electrolyzer cost reduction or other product improvement projects.
  3. Designs and executes experiments to validate new materials, analyze contaminant tolerance, optimize startup protocols, and reduce conditioning time.
  4. Uses simulation software to simulate or model system information, motors, or fuel cells.
  5. Works with the testing team on the execution of necessary electrolyzer cell and stack testing and development programs.
  6. Oversees the design and construction of prototypes.
  7. Identifies potential issues and challenges with electrolyzer system design; recommends and implements appropriate changes.
  8. Maintains current knowledge of emerging technology and competitive products by actively attending meetings or conferences, reading current literature and research, and communicating with colleagues.
  9. Effectively collaborate with all supply chain, new product introduction, and manufacturing teams to ensure the successful integration of the product design.
  10. Provides ongoing training and education to the engineering team to ensure its ability to execute on the engineering team goals and objectives operation of the company’s product.
  11. Builds a strong engineering team byensuring effective coaching and counseling employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

LOCATION, TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Significant travel between US and India to work at the Company’s facilities in Bangalore, India.
  2. Full compliance with the Ohmium COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

 

FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical Engineering or related fieldrequired; and
  • Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical Engineering or related fieldrequired: or
  • Combination of experience, education, certification, or work history providing an equivalent technical expertise.

WORK EXPERIENCE

·      At least fifteen (15) years or more leadership of engineering functions with a total of twenty (20) years of progressive engineering leadership.
