We're hiring quickly and consciously, as a foundational hire, you’re going to make a massive impact on who this team is and our traction. You’ll report to the CEO and collaborate closely with the entire company. At this stage and size, there’s truly only one team.

We're also hiring across the board - each of which you'll collaborate with closely.

 

What you'll do

The role is market-facing with responsibility for selling PPAs to the executive levels of Commercial and Industrial companies within the UK and Europe. Negotiate and close contracts for Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) at the enterprise levels of some of the world's greatest companies. In a rapidly changing market where the supply of energy is becoming more diverse and distributed and the demand is shifting to low carbon, we are seeking a business development lead to support these activities in the UK and Europe. This role will be focused on increasing awareness of local carbon free energy as a reliable alternative procurement source of energy for Commercial and Industrial companies. This role is critical to helping our clients and prospects construct a successful renewable energy portfolio built upon a firm foundation of data, and then ensuring they achieve emission-reduction and renewable energy targets. You will also be attending and speaking at industry events, leading the process to build repeatable industry solutions, creating significant new business opportunities for InRange. So here is what you will mainly do:

 

Building TRUST and valuable partnerships

The starting point is to develop an intimate knowledge and relationship with energy buyers in commercial and industrial companies to better understand their needs and pain points when it comes to the procurement of renewable energy. We need you to be the driving force and subject matter expert when it comes to renewable energy procurement. With an initial focus on the UK, but ultimate responsibility will extend to more European markets-  Netherlands, Germany, Italy and France. Leaning on your existing network for meetings with decision makers at Data Centers and other types of C&I companies across the UK and Europe is an integral part of this role.

 

Generate business opportunities and help close them

Business development at InRange has an element of sales. You need to have the ability to sell, and have a fervent belief in our product and its capability. In doing so you will be selling to major Data Centers, Tech Companies, and C&I customers long term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs.)

The focus will be working with diverse stakeholders to add new energy buyers onto InRange's platform through generating new PPA opportunities, leveraging new and existing client relationships. That means identifying sites with a growing energy demand for renewable energy on a constant basis. Developing partnerships with Enterprise customers to scale InRange's offering alongside their existing energy procurement portfolio. For us to continue to evolve our product and offering the customer feedback/insights to Product/Operations in an efficient way is an integral part of this role.

You’re experienced

We are looking for someone to hit the ground running and who has personal credibility in the industry, with existing relationships and a large network in the renewables vertical. Extensive experience in executive-level enterprise sales, with proven success in the energy and sustainability services market. In addition, having proven success in navigating long, complex sales cycles - six to twelve months in duration - will be beneficial in this role. A strategic thinker with technical depth, and communication skills to further establish InRange as the leader in this emerging space. InRange is looking for a business development and go-to-market leader who has a good understanding of renewable energy procurement trends and is passionate and capable of driving market development for InRange. Leveraging the richness of InRange's platform to position and drive solutions, enable the ecosystem, and address rapidly changing customer needs. So having years of renewable energy experience in the C&I space and a strong network is critical.  A keen sense of ownership and your ability to deal with ambiguous environments and scrappiness is a must.

We are looking for grit and relentlessness in engaging with decision makers all the way to putting ink on paper and closing deals.
