Elemental Excelerator is on a mission to redesign the systems at the root of climate change. In 2009, we launched a new non-profit model for funding climate tech deployment. Breaking down barriers to innovation alongside entrepreneurs provides us unique insight into the policy, market, and technology innovation needed to build systems to uplift people and communities around the world. Elemental has invested in over 130 growth-stage companies and celebrated more than a dozen exits, funded more than 100 technology projects, and built a platform for scaling equitable, market-driven solutions to climate change.

Entrepreneur in Residence: Equity & Access

• Are you passionate about helping climate tech hardware and software companies scale?
• Have you been able to effectively integrate diversity, equity and inclusion principles within a startup?
• Do you have a network of people with deep expertise to help companies implement new policies and procedures?

This is a consulting position that could range from 3-6 hours per week with some variability on a seasonal basis.  Additional hours may be required for resource development. Work will be performed within a dynamic, entrepreneurial team environment with support from our organization and the broader ecosystem.  We are looking for someone who is a delight to work with, can begin with the nuance of implementing complex issues in a startup environment and can be a diligent partner for our entrepreneurs!

Specific duties may include:

1. Provide insight and advice on integrating diversity, equity and inclusion practices either in a group setting or 1:1
2. Development and implementation of tools, resource guides and processes
3. Co-Design and host interactive calls and workshops for portfolio companies
4. Facilitate peer-to-peer learning sessions for Elemental portfolio companies
5. Share portfolio progress and insights with internal team
6. Empower portfolio companies to share case studies and examples of their equitable business practices. 

Qualifications

 Need to have:

• Background as a startup leader
• Proven track record in integrating & operationalizing diversity, equity and inclusion principles within a startup environment, we are open to various company stages
• Ability to engage network to support Elemental portfolio companies and broader ecosystem
• Flexible, creative, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• High emotional intelligence and ability to build interpersonal relationships
• Excellent communication skills
• Stakeholder management experience

Nice to have:

• Worked in climate and sustainability
• Experience coaching or providing consulting services
• Relationships within recruiters, equity and access consultants, community-based organizations

This position will be remote and candidates can be based anywhere in the United States.

Compensation

Competitive pay will be offered commensurate with qualifications. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
