The Opportunity

Carbon Title is an end-to-end software platform designed for the real estate industry, which is responsible for 38% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Our powerful, intuitive tools enable users to understand, manage and share the ongoing carbon impact of their buildings and portfolio by utilizing some of the latest web3 technology. We help the industry get to carbon-neutral goals by making greener building choices and purchasing high-quality carbon removals with radical transparency.

We are repeat founders (with successful exits), who are passionate about doing our part to tackle climate change.  Our company is well funded with ample runway and backed by some of the smartest and well-connected VCs in the space.

This is an opportunity to quickly build a venture-scale business while working on one of the most important problems of our time. If you share our passion for building high-growth companies and tackling climate change, please reach out to us. It’s an exciting opportunity to help define a software platform that has the ability to make a real difference.

Business Development Representative

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated BDR who is interested in being an early employee on the GTM team.  The position will report to and work closely with one of the co-founders to land some of the largest construction and real estate organizations and then help deepen the relationship over time.  As a young company, we all wear multiple hats and we need someone who is a self-starter, will proactively come up with creative solutions to problems, and is excited about “figuring it out.”

BDR Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with marketing to determine target segments and build lists to grow our prospect database
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Screen new leads and set meetings for the sales team
  • Perform effective online demos to prospects
  • Manage the contract process and follow up
  • For larger customers, own the (minimal) customer onboarding and account management and responsibility for growing the account over time
  • Keep client interactions and records up to date in Hubspot
  • Keep informed of industry trends, new technologies and competitors and communicate findings to the team
  • Actively gather feedback from customers during interactions to feedback to the internal team
  • Contribute to development and optimization of sales materials and communications

Job Requirements:

  • Proven BDR experience
  • Strong learning mindset to uncover customers’ problems and adjust sales pitch accordingly
  • Strong customer presence and experience generating leads
  • Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
  • Experience working with Hubspot is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Must be a self-starter who doesn’t wait to be told to do something
  • 2+ years of BDR or sales experience
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Experience in climate-related industries is a plus

Ideally, the candidate would be comfortable with working from home with occasional travel to the company’s offices in Lake Oswego, Oregon (Portland Metro). Being local to the area or within a short flight is optimal. We don’t anticipate any travel to prospects.
