Research Associate - Bioprocessing
The Role
Macro Oceans is looking for a full-time Research Associate to work on our bioprocessing team. You will be part of our Science & Engineering team, based at our lab and pilot facility in West Sacramento.
As an RA your responsibilities will be to support our bioprocessing team in their day-to-day lab and pilot activities. Specifically you will assist with:
- Commission, startup and operation of various unit operations including optimization and troubleshooting
- Development of design documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, BOMs and layouts
- Developing GMPs and SOPs to support production goals
This position is a great opportunity for a recent graduate who loves building things to get some hands-on experience with a team that is developing cutting technology for processing seaweed.
Your Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Engineering or another relevant field
- Working knowledge and practical experience of wet-lab (bio)chemistry
- Hands on practical experience in engineering / building things
