Job Title: Sr. Sustainability Strategy Lead

Job Summary: As the Senior Sustainability Strategy Lead – you will collaborate with key business stakeholders and the TCG Production team to help drive accountability and ensure that manufacturing processes within the largest manufacturing pillar within TPCi take place in an ethical manner with the least negative impact on the environment as possible.

What you’ll do

Integration with TCG Production Strategic Solutions Team

  • Generate environmental impact reports and studies on proposed changes to manufacturing practices and help inform potential decisions
  • Collaborate with Print Producers, Logistics Coordinators, and Designers on new packaging and product concepts, providing guidance and feedback on limiting negative manufacturing and shipping impacts.
  • Work with outside consultants to obtain 3rd party verification on environmental claims
  • Acts as the department thought leader. Helping the TCG Team and other teams operationalize sustainability
  • Work in tandem with the business to formulate sustainability strategies and helping to deliver on key SMART goals, which you also help to develop
  • Lead by influence to drive efficiency and continuous improvement programs
  • Maintain positive, proactive relationships with key suppliers, internal stakeholders, printers, and vendors
  • Conduct scenario analysis on multiple potential manufacturing solutions, new envisioned SKUs, and theoretical programs
  • Collaborate with leadership to help TCG understand and evaluate a broader program for a comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) approach and strategy
  • Monitor sustainability and environmental trends and evaluate opportunities for continual improvement of TCG’s programs and aspirations
  • Engage with TCG and suppliers to educate, inform, and identify opportunities to reduce the company’s and suppliers’ environmental footprint in the areas of energy, climate, water and waste.

 

Decarbonization & Sustainability Reporting

  • Computation of TCG’s Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions, along with a supply chain annual Scope 3 carbon emissions report
  • Engage with Net Zero and the Science-Based Targets Foundation to formulate carbon neutral goals
  • Consistent oversight of Pokemon’s Environmental Impact Dashboard and vendor consumption data. Following up with vendors on consumption data query and monitoring dashboard progress. Working with suppliers on comprehensive foot printing.
  • Pulling through data and collaborating with the TCG Production team to publish the internal-facing supply chain sustainability report. Collecting data, writing, editing, text, designing charts, graphs, and content for internal supply chain sustainability report.
  • Maintaining consistent internal messaging on sustainability, reporting, and communication to other business pillar leads
  • Identification and qualification of non-profit partners. Potential future expansion into the carbon market, and leading the formulation of a corporate carbon strategy

              

What you’ll bring

  • Eight (8) to eleven (11) years of related professional experience.
  • Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, supply chain, or another manufacturing-related field
  • Ability to travel internationally/domestically once a quarter
  • Proven project management skills
  • Independent mindset with the ability to self-manage, while working through multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Subject matter expert in the sustainability space with a strong focus on data analysis, operations optimization strategies, carbon reduction strategies, industry trends, and employee engagement
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary fields
  • Experience working with printers and paper manufacturing beneficial
  • Experience quantifying and evaluating with GHG accounting, operations performance data and sustainability key performance indicators
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, including but not limited to: GRI, UN SDGs, The GHG Protocol, EPA programs (ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, SmartWay, Sustainable Material Management, and Water Sense), SGP certification, ISO 14001, B Corp certification and how they may apply to TCG and potentially TPCi as a whole.
  • Experience working within complex supply chains, manufacturing, logistics, and production experience beneficial
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be a team player with integrity, honesty, and a passion for the environment
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with environmental justice, social impact and governance issues with ability to provide guidance for expansion of sustainability program to encompass ESG

  • Base salary range: $112000.00 - 168000.00. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. It is common for TPCi to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates’ qualifications and experience uniquely.
