The Climate Collective is an effort driven by the Celo community to fight climate change by tokenizing rainforests and other carbon sequestering assets to enable natural capital backed stablecoins on the Celo platform.

The Climate Collective is an expanding coalition of projects at the nexus of web3 and climate action, focused on building a suite of interoperable products to develop and frame the Regenerative Finance (“ReFi”)  ecosystem. Our team is one of the most impactful in crypto. We are based out of SoHo in New York City with the option to be partially or fully remote depending on the position and person.

The Celo community, ranging from developers to traders to land stewards, is aligned with our common mission of “Prosperity for All”. We’re looking for a Community Lead with a strong understanding of Ethereum, DeFi fundamentals, decentralized communities and community-building tools to support and engage with the Climate Collective and broader ReFi community.

This role will be highly visible in the organization and in the broader ecosystem. You will not only manage our day-to-day online presence, you will also be responsible for keeping your finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the ReFi and greater web3 space. You will help with hiring and training a team of global community managers. You should love community-building and have a knack for developing online relationships. You will be joining a lean team, and this role will have a lot of autonomy - you should be a self-starter and be capable of self-directed work. This role will be impactful to our ever-growing community - reinventing what a community is at the heart of climate and crypto. 

Most importantly, you should care deeply about the mission of decentralized communities and climate action, and always be thinking of creative ways to help spread the word.

Responsibilities

• Create Climate Collective’s overall marcomm strategy, using research, industry trends and observations to determine CC messaging priorities, tone and marketing channels.
• Create a plan to execute on the marcomm strategy, including hiring needs, partnerships and content calendar for blog and social media.
• Attend virtual and in person conferences and hackathons, support hackers, and generally engage with the community around Climate Collective
• Drive engagement on social channels, including Twitter and Discord 
• Monitor and participate in discussions in other climate-related discord servers, to gather information, leads, and community members
• Create fun community engagement programs, such as giveaways or virtual events
• Host a monthly Climate Collective community call
• Manage our mailing list and create periodic newsletter updates including Discord digests, dashboard updates, case studies
• Develop new ways of engaging with our users and community
• Work with the business development team to turn community engagement into active BD opportunities
• Thought leadership on issues in the DeFi space via twitter and the Climate Collective blog

Requirements

• Experience working in community management for a crypto project
• Organizational skills
• Self-directed worker
• Ability to respond very quickly across all of our platforms
• Sense of humor 

Nice to have

• Degree in computer science/self-taught engineer
• Active following on twitter
• Existing relationships in the crypto space
• Existing relationships in the climate space
• Past experience designing and managing a Web3 Discord server
• Past experience in climate 
• Love for nature :)
