Description

The world’s biggest problems have nothing on our biggest ideas. The boldest entrepreneurs are those racing to grow game-changing concepts into needle-moving ventures. They are motivated by purpose, inspired by big bets and committed to results. Yet too often they get stalled, held back by complex market forces they don’t see or understand and dissuaded by policy and political levers they don’t know if or how to pull. This is where we step in.

Who We Are & What We Do

Purpose Venture Group is a consultancy that advises and incubates impact-focused ventures tackling climate and economic inequality, often at the nexus of both. We work with entrepreneurs, investors and scaled enterprises to help them manage the complexity of market creation, transformation and social change and tap into their power. We are a team of experts who know how to build and execute strategy, make markets and leverage finance and public policy. The result? Scaled impact that can be felt in real life, real places and real time.

Unlike other firms that have an “impact” or “ESG” practice, impact ventures are all we do. We have held senior positions on Wall Street and in The White House, in philanthropy, nonprofits and startups. More importantly, we are founders who have built and scaled ventures of our own. That’s why we understand the long journey between a world-changing idea and changing the world. Learn more about our values and recent client case studies here.

Position Scope

Purpose Venture Group is growing rapidly and seeking a successful senior strategist, advisor and business builder to join our team as Managing Director. In this newly created position reporting to the co-founders, the Managing Director is principally responsible for helping to scale PVG’s impact and results in line with our values, vision and mission. Strategy

  • Design new business development strategies that accelerate PVG’s growth in line with the firm’s values.
  • See, create and seize opportunities to increase PVG’s market share, position and impact with clients, including product and service innovation.
  • Stay apprised of industry trends, policy developments, competitor activity and market innovations that inform the firm’s growth and strategy.
  • Create processes to track and execute toward the firm’s key objectives and performance indicators.
  • Source and cultivate business acquisition opportunities for PVG to expand its reach and impact.

Organizational & Team Management

  • Serve as a member of PVG’s senior leadership team with care for and oversight of the firm’s overall strength and impact, operating as a thought and execution partner to co-founders.
  • Build and manage a growing team, including establishing annual objectives, providing regular feedback and appropriate recognition, conducting annual performance reviews and supporting ongoing professional development.
  • Determine the operational infrastructure and systems necessary to support the firm’s growth and ensure that capacity stays ahead of demand.
  • Oversee the firm’s impact tracking and reporting.
