As VP Impact Measurement, you will play a key role in Galvanize’s mission to provide the capital, expertise, and partnerships necessary to produce and scale urgent climate solutions–ensuring that we drive meaningful climate impact through our investments. You will design and carry out impact measurement frameworks across all our investment strategies (e.g. venture capital, public equities, real estate), including asset classes for which climate impact frameworks are nascent. You will share our impact and your experience with the field, to help drive the practice of climate impact measurement forward.

Job Responsibilities

Impact Diligence

  • Perform impact diligence through qualitative research and quantitative analysis of potential impact over time
  • Prepare written impact assessments to aid in investment decision-making

Impact Measurement

  • Design and implement impact measurement and management systems for Galvanize investment strategies across all asset classes, in line with leading practices
  • For example, adapting and/or designing climate impact estimation methodologies for private companies based on the best available science and data
  • Design and maintain impact data collection systems; work with portfolio companies and investment managers to efficiently collect impact and select ESG metrics

Reporting

  • Architect and write the firm's annual impact report
  • Lead third party impact verification processes

Platform

  • Share impact and measurement frameworks content, aligned with Galvanize's overall communications strategy
  • Represent Galvanize and/or support Chief Impact Officer’s participation in networks/initiatives that advance the practice of climate impact measurement
  • Be an ally in living Galvanize’s values of ensuring a more equitable and inclusive transition to the Net Zero economy

Required Qualifications

  • Deep alignment with Galvanize’s mission of accelerating critical climate solutions
  • Five years or more of full time work experience in analytical and quantitative roles, requiring strong written and verbal communication
  • Work experience should be inclusive of two or more years in impact measurement, impact investing, and/or impact consulting
  • Experience modeling climate impact in sectors such as power, mobility, agriculture, carbon removal, resilience, efficiency, and carbon accounting
  • Comfort with financial models; fluency in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Professional presentation–ability to impress C-suite level executives across Galvanize's portfolio companies and relevant industries
  • Ability to navigate a dynamic hybrid organization and form strong relationships with diverse team members

Desired (Additional) Qualifications

  • Experience designing or implementing impact measurement frameworks across multiple asset classes (for example: seed, venture, real estate, public equities)
  • Familiarity with technoeconomic analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with impact and ESG reporting software tools
  • Management experience; this position could manage 1-2 other colleagues over time

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary pay band: $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience
