Pearl Street Technologies, Inc. is an early-stage startup developing next-generation software for the electric utility industry. Based in Pittsburgh, PA and backed by Powerhouse Ventures, Incite Labs, the National Science Foundation, ARPA-E, and the Department of Energy, we’re building tools to make the grid more reliable, secure, and sustainable. What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced frontend or full-stack software engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex projects while collaborating with existing members of the team. We’re building a new app for planning a better grid, and you will play a leading role in implementing core user-facing functionality, including:

• Visualizing grid data and simulation outputs
• Building intuitive views for highly-technical simulation and optimization analyses
• Writing portable code that runs on the web and on desktop

Your work will help make it faster and cheaper for zero-carbon energy projects to be connected to the grid!

What we value

• 3+ years professional experience in software engineering
• Proficiency with modern browser technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, etc.)
• Experience interacting with RESTful web services
• Familiarity with Git or other version control system
• A passion for learning, teaching, and building beautiful software
• Experience with Python is a plus
• Experience using Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS is a plus
• Strong analytical problem solving skills and/or STEM degree preferred
