BACKGROUND

Energy Foundry is an impact-driven venture capital fund that invests in and supports early-stage energy and clean technology businesses. Recognized as an industry-leading firm, we take a thesis-driven approach to investing in and building new innovations in clean energy, water, waste, mobility and agriculture.  From the way we source investment opportunities to the way we select and then nurture each portfolio company, our unique approach is delivering success.  Our portfolio companies have secured more than 19x in additional funding, and by 2030 our companies will eliminate more than 2.6 gigatons of CO2 annually.

PURPOSE

We are looking for a dynamic Director who will drive our market intelligence function, which supports the innovation efforts of select corporate partners and contributes to Energy Foundry’s investment activity.  As the Director of Market Intelligence, you will take the lead in identifying emerging industry trends by assessing a variety of resources, including Energy Foundry’s proprietary pipeline of innovations (more than 1,500 technologies reviewed each year). You will synthesize research and data into actionable intelligence, help distill the impact and relevance of market disruptions, and keep a continual pulse on technology innovation. If you are passionate about energy, climate-tech, or groundbreaking technology, consider yourself a "go-getter" and intellectually curious, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have direct impact.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with 5+ years of experience in consulting, market research or strategy and a desire to apply their skill set to this unique opportunity.  Prior experience in the energy industry is required, and prior experience in a startup environment would be a plus.  Undergraduate degree required (engineering, physical science or materials science majors strongly preferred).
