About Ezra Climate: 

Ezra Climate is solving one of the biggest issues preventing the success of climate companies. In order to scale climate solutions (eg. solar, batteries, EVs, eBikes, heat pumps, etc.), climate companies need to make their solutions affordable to customers. Access to the right debt capital means that companies can offer financing programs to their customers, allowing people to save money by adopting climate tech. Ezra is a fintech building software and financing solutions to radically accelerate the adoption of climate solutions. 

Job Description: 

We are looking for a skilled Associate with 3+ years of experience to work as a core member of Ezra’s investment team. You will contribute to a broad range of functions including: credit analysis, financial statement/model review, scenario modeling, deal execution, portfolio monitoring, and certain sourcing activities. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about fintech with a strong understanding of asset-backed corporate finance fundamentals.

Responsibilities:

• Asset-Based Credit Analyses:
• Focus on evaluating and analyzing loan/lease tapes to ensure accurate and comprehensive credit analysis.
• Utilize asset-based financial modeling techniques to underwrite investment opportunities.
• Develop and maintain models for collections/charge-off curves, loss coverages, and investment returns.
• Diligence Leadership:
• Take the lead in conducting diligence conversations with potential portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and review diligence materials.
• Investment Memo Drafting:
• Prepare detailed investment memos outlining key aspects of potential investments.
• Identify and address relevant focus areas and risks associated with each investment opportunity.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior team members for review and approval.
• Engagement with Capital Partners:
• Collaborate with capital partners throughout the deal execution process.
• Maintain effective communication to ensure alignment on investment strategies and objectives.
• Address inquiries and provide necessary information to facilitate smooth deal execution.
• Portfolio Monitoring:
• Monitor the ongoing performance of portfolio companies.
• Work closely with portfolio management teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Identify and address any issues that may impact the financial health of the portfolio.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience across private credit investing, investment banking, debt capital markets / leveraged finance, structured / asset-based finance, restructuring
• Strong knowledge of credit underwriting and accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong understanding of investment concepts and financial markets.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
