At Evergreen Climate Innovations, we believe entrepreneurship and innovation are powerful forces that can be harnessed to solve our climate and environmental imperatives while also creating jobs and generating attractive business and investment opportunities.
We catalyze climate innovations by finding, funding, and growing innovative climate tech startups in the Greater Midwest. Structured as a nonprofit, we make seed investments and provide patient, hands-on support to help entrepreneurs scale and succeed.
We are hiring a Program Manager to implement programming that supports climate tech entrepreneurs. The responsibilities of this role will entail project management, outreach to external stakeholders, event planning, research, and proposal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the execution of key Evergreen Climate Innovations programs which provide programmatic support to climate tech entrepreneurs
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and sourcing nodes, including startups, universities, accelerators, incubators, and investors
- Support the planning and execution of ecosystem support activities like networking events and educational programming
- Identify, recruit, maintain a database of, and engage with subject matter experts that support Evergreen’s work
- Contribute to Evergreen’s research and thought leadership
- Support the development of proposals to fund the work mentioned above
Success Factors and Qualifications
- Program manager, analyst, event planning, or business logistics experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong project management and executive function skills, including planning, attention to detail, follow up, and managing multiple priorities
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to take initiative
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft and Google office suites; familiarity with Airtable, Hubspot, and Slack preferred
- Passion for Evergreen’s mission
Other Details
- This role will be based out of Evergreen’s Chicago office. Evergreen works in an open office environment in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood; we operate a hybrid schedule where all staff are in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays
